When creating my storyboard, I started by looking into colour palettes. I knew straight away that I wanted to do a different colour palette from my AS piece as that was kept quite simple with darker colours. I was interested in incorporating brighter colours (perhaps from clothing) in between some darker tones (maybe from the setting). I looked specifically at colour palettes from Wes Anderson films as they are good examples of balancing contrasting colours in a colour palette.
For my trailer I was interested in the genres of social realism and crime/mystery. I liked the idea of having a loose plot and more of a montage style trailer so the audience do not try and piece together the film and create lots of expectations. This would create a sense of mystery which should intrigue them more. For both types of genre, I would be interested in using teenagers as the main characters due to casting efficiency and also for the chance of subverting some set stereotypes. I would like to have the focus of the trailer on a group of individuals instead of one character so multiple stories can be incorporated in the trailer.
I thought it would be interesting to have one of the main locations as a beach setting because it could help to enhance the mood of the film and also create some great shots. I also thought it would be good to have lots of the shots being outside to represent the teenager's freedom and a form of journey.
